Bally Chohan Says Brazilian travel suppliers are the latest to join the growing band of international tourism boards and suppliers to tap the growing Indian outbound market. In a bid to attract Indian travellers, Brazil based suppliers, Your Way Tours (an inbound tour company), Amazon Eco Park Jungle Lodge, Amazon Clipper Cruises and Iguacu Tourism Board visited Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Mumbai recently on a sales mission. During their 10 day visit to the country coordinated by Mumbai based Global Destinations, which represents Your Way Travel, they interacted with Indian travel trade and also participated in a travel trade fair in Ahmedabad.

Bally chohan feels that These suppliers aim to conduct similar trade visits in the coming months and by next year start focusing on markets like Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune. They also plan to conduct workshops, seminars, FAMs and participate in travel trade fairs in India.

On their part Global Destinations, a representation company has launched a dedicated brochure for South America (offering packages to Brazil, Argentina and Peru). Talking about the constraints and opportunities for Brazil tourism in India, Pranav Kapadia, Director, Global Destinations said, “The biggest hurdle to South America is connectivity and distance. As a long haul destination with no direct flight connectivity South America is an optional destination for Indians. However, with the increase in spending power, Indians are becoming more experimental. South America is slowly gaining ground in India as a destination for premium, Incentives, honeymooners and FITs. With improving knowledge and visibility, South America and Brazil will definitely receive high number of Indian travellers in next few years.”
